Can you eat pig rectum?

I am watching Fear Factor right now. The contestants had to eat PIG FREAKIN' RECTUM!!! In the show they called it "Pig Bung".

O my god! Sick!!!

Here's an explanation as to how the show chooses what kind of stuff (I can't call it "food") they will ask the contestants to eat. According to them, they always ask for the approval of the USDA. And they were surprised, and delighted, to find out that Pig Rectum or Pig Bung was approved as edible.

Several posts ago I mentioned that I cannot see myself joining Fear Factor. This is one of the reasons why.
