Road Trip
Jovan, Brother Mike and I went to Batangas last saturday, not thinking about the typhoon. Jovan and Mike were supposed to go around Batangas to check out the route of the Batangas Race. Since he went home at 4AM from a party, Mike didn't bring his bike anymore. Going to Batangas City was like going to a disaster area. There were trees on the road - big, uprooted trees - every 500 meters or so. Obviously, there wasn't going to be any ride. First stop was Goto King for breakfast. Brownout everywhere! Second stop was Tita Carme's house, where we ate santol and indian mangoes. YUMMY! Then we went to Atty's house - there, Jovan, Nilo and Atty discussed the race rules. Next stop was Tita Carme's house again - but this was a quick stop because we headed right away to SM Batangas City for lunch. We chose Flavors of China so that Jovan had many choices. We ended up shopping afterwards (shopping in SM Batangas!). Great finds really - two Batangueno shirts for Jovan and a martial law shirt for me. Cute! We left Batangas at 3PM, after they had drinks in Starbucks.
We didn't have a destination. We had four options, but we chose Caliraya, not knowing where we can stay there, but hoping for the best. The ride was interesting, what with three crazy people in the same car! We stopped over at Bay to buy monay, but unfortunately, ubos na. We arrived in Caliraya at around 6PM. First stop was Lagos del Sol - but we thought P1650/person was too expensive given that we arrived so late. If we were there for the whole day it would have been worth it. So we looked for another place. we ended up in Villa Ruthman - not bad really, P650/person for the venue and P150/person for two meals. By 8:30PM we were not doing anything anymore so we just ended up with kwento, more kwento, and some stupid ass magic. Ahahaha! Lights out by 11PM, but I had a hard time sleeping - I think I ended up sleeping at around 1AM.
The next day we had breakfast at around 9AM, then took off at around 10:30AM. We took the 'backdoor' route, and ended up in Antipolo and Marikina. And of course, as usual, it was a crazy ride. We checked out the Oakleys at Joven Bikeshop in Marikina, then had lunch at Kenny Rogers Katipunan.
Despite the typhoon, even if we didn't have plans, I really enjoyed and I would do it again anytime. (I'll probably get a place with a better bathroom though. :) )

Bye Chai! =(
We finally sold Chai last wednesday. It's about time that we buy a new car, since Chai was seven years old already. I was sad, because that car brought with it a lot of memories. She had been with Jovan even before we met. But I'm looking forward to our new car! We paid the reservation fee today. Hopefully we'll get the new car within the week. Looking forward to all the adventures we will have with that car. :)

Thanks to those who sent me messages, as a reply to my last post. I'm okay now. :)
FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Jovan and I celebrated our first year anniversary last May 7, 2006. I've been married for one year already! Wow, that was quick! :) We woke up (relatively) early and went to The Wall to watch the All Terra King of the Mountains race. Had lunch at Circles in Shangri-la Makati - treat of my parents! Took a nap in the afternoon, then headed to Eastwood for our 'dinner'. It was perfect - those who mattered most were there. It was so much fun! It was a perfect way to celebrate our first year anniversary. It reminded me of our wedding. Much as it was OUR day, we wanted to celebrate it with friends, so we wanted them to enjoy. Hope it will be like this every year.

Mission Impossible 3
Watched it with Jovan, Mads, her friend JP, Mike O and Mike T in Shangrila on the first day of showing. The movie was okay, almost so-so, for me. Yes, I was entertained. I was squirming in my seat and getting tired from all the action scenes the whole time. But in terms of storyline, it was predictable (OF COURSE there IS a 'double twist' of some sort!) and in terms of action scenes, it was obvious that they put so much effort into it. I wasn't lost in the movie. I've always thought that a good movie should make me forget that I am watching a movie.
One of my favorite scenes was the Vatican scene. (Hmmm, just a thought, was Tom Cruise mocking the Church? Why choose the Vatican of all places?)
Anyway, won't post much since some people haven't watched the movie yet. Don't worry, this is just me. My other friends liked the movie. :)

To travel...
Since last year, I've been to Bangkok, the US, and Davao. Plus I've had a road trip and I went out of town last weekend. Two more planned trips coming up - one in Bohol, and another in Davao (I know it's a repeat but we're going during the Kadayawan). There could be trips to Banahaw, Banaue, Puerto Princesa and Baguio within the year too. We'll see. Not a lot compared to how others travel. But, so far, so good. Especially for someone who did not travel for a long time. Last time I left the country was 1999 (Hongkong), and last time I travelled within the country was 1997 (Cebu). The last time I was in the US was 1993! What a hiatus! Hopefully, we'll continue to travel and there will be no more long intervals between the trips. My targets in the near future (within the next 2-3 years?): go back to the US or go to Europe, go back to Cebu, go to Singapore, and visit Hongkong again. Interested in Kuala Lumpur too but we'll see...
