Sanjaya
I don't know what to say. He's still in American Idol. He hasn't been in the bottom 3 the past 2 weeks. He know his strength - his hair - and he's really going all out with his hairdo every week. It's annoying, it's disappointing, and for me, it's taking away the American Idol charm.
If Jordin, Lakisha and Melinda leave earlier than Sanjaya, then American Idol will turn out to be the number one joke in America.

Friends and Weddings
I don't get to spend a lot of time with Kookie and Bunny. Thank god for the internet (YM, blogs and email in particular) because that's how I get to talk to them. So I made sure that we would attend Nikki's wedding today - a perfect reason for us to spend time with each other. Jovan and I picked up Kookie from her condo to attend the wedding at the Shrine of Jesus. It was so hot! Summer is definitely here. The wedding was quick, and it was really nice to see Nikki smiling the whole time! Kookie and I couldn't get over how he's now called "Nick" - he'll forever be 'Nikki, 11 fingers, and Kamats' to us.
After the wedding, we went to McDo to get some food since Kookie was really hungry. We ate in the car and then went to Coconut Palace for the reception. We were really early, so we just looked for a bench and waited until it was cool enough to go outside. The caterer was Josiah's, the videographer was Jason Magbanua. It brought back memories - planning for our wedding was really a lot of fun.
We met Bunny in Coconut Palace. It's really awesome to be with these girls. It's like we were never apart. I really love them!
It was so hot, even after the sun set. The heat drained all the energy out of me, so we left even before the program ended.

Idol News
I love American Idol. I find it very entertaining. But more than that, it's one of the things that keep me going, because it's something I look forward to every week, aside from the weekend. There are not a lot of things I look forward to right now.
I think the Americans got it really wrong when Sabrina Sloan left, but that's okay. However, I think the Americans are getting it wrong by keeping Sanjaya Malakar there. That's not okay. He has no stage presence at all. I was glad that he was part of the bottom 2 last week. I hope he gets voted off this week.
I think the girls have it. And though everyone thinks it's between Melinda and Lakisha, I think Jordin has a shot. She's pretty, she's young, and she has a beautiful voice. I just hope she'll be consistent. The boys - well, too bad that the girls are just way more talented.

Work
I find it really sad when I'm in front of my computer and I can't think of anything to blog about, because there's nothing much I've been thinking about except for work. Work, work, and more work. The past week was chaotic, and sadly, the next two weeks will be as bad. My calendar is a mess, with 3 hour long meetings side by side with 30-minute telecons. I'm tired. How I survive? By taking it one day at a time.
I find it really sad when I'm in front of my computer and I can't think of anything to blog about, because there's nothing much I've been thinking about except for work. Work, work, and more work. This. Is. An. Awesome. Movie.
I agreed to watch the movie grudgingly. I even said "I don't care about Sparta!" You see, I'm not into period and war movies. But I figured I was gonna be with friends so even if I'll hate the movie, it was okay. Well, that was what I thought. I was so wrong! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the movie!
After work, we went to Powerplant. We were a group of 8 - Jovan and I, Mads and JP, Fen and JT, Binky and Doc Hubby. I shopped a bit (It has been so long since I shopped in Dorothy Perkins so I bought a lot! GULP!), we ate at Oliver's, then watched the movie at 7:20PM.
The movie was one beautiful, fluid, painting. Yes, you read that right. It was like watching a painting come to life. Beautiful, beautiful cinematography. Great treatment of motion. Yes it was gory at times, but you get past it. Some of the fight scenes were actually beautiful. It's also pretty accurate, so by watching you get to brush up on your ancient history.
Please do try to watch it while it's being shown in the cinemas. This is a movie that should be watched in the moviehouse. The experience won't be the same if you watch it on DVD.

How do you get rid of insomnia?
I've had insomnia for so long I can't remember when it first started. Not sure if it was high school or college. It goes away sometimes, but it's always there, ready to pounce at the next stressful period of my life. It has been really bad the past couple of months - it takes 3-4 hours for me to sleep from the time I turn off the lights and go to bed. Two weeks ago, I made sure I was in bed before 12 midnight because we had to go to Tagaytay early the next day. I was still awake at 4AM. Tonight, I turned off the lights and went to bed before 11PM. Still wide awake so I decided to just blog.
Most of the "remedies" don't work for me, so that's a problem. Warm milk - I have a problem with lactose. Exercise - Doesn't work for me, whether I exercise hours before I go to sleep or right before I go to sleep. Melatonin - I'm scared to try it because it has effects on people with severe allergies (I kinda have a lot of allergies). My next 3 options are taking benadryl (yes, my friend recommended this), taking a sleeping pill, or changing my bedroom habits - I've read a lot of articles that say that the bedroom/bed should only be used for sleeping (not reading, watching TV, etc.). The last one will be VERY hard to do, I don't think I'm ready to try that anytime soon.
Any other suggestions? Help!

Don't you sometimes feel the universe is talking to you?
I love it when I feel the universe is talking to me, through a song, lines from a movie, entries from fellow bloggers, advice from friends, observing the lives of strangers... It gives me a sense of direction, because really, there are times when I have all but given up. I feel that Someone somewhere cares for me, and is making sure that I get the message. The latest snippet of wisdom I found in Bea's blog:
Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. Know a good thing when you see it and don't let it slip away. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. No one said it would be easy, they just said it would be worth it.
Wisdom. It's something that I really need now.

Biking
Yes, I have started to bike. It wasn't really a decision I consciously made. Jovan bought a bike at a cheap price. He had 2 options for the bike - I could use it if I wanted to (the GIANT frame was perfect for me at 14 inches), or he could sell the parts. Well, I figured that I should know how to bike if I'm a real fan of the sport. I started 3 weeks ago and I'm actually enjoying it! Jovan changed some parts - he changed the handlebar to a riser bar, he got a gel cover for the seat, and he changed the pedals to platform pedals. Since I don't have a helmet yet, I refuse to go far, so I just go around the Ateneo high school parking lot. I started with a distance of 2.5km, but tonight I biked 4km! Cool! I really should get a helmet...
One of my goals is to join the Ride for the Roses or a LiveSTRONG challenge in the US. The only problem will be the money (since you have to raise at least $2,500 to be able to join - gulp!).

I was finally able to watch the movie last night with Jovan, Sharon and Cathy. Nice movie! Well, it's the usual romantic comedy, but it was very entertaining. The start was hilarious, and the songs are very catchy. All in all, it was worth my money.
Speaking of music, and lyrics, I am loving the Grey's Anatomy soundtracks. I'm not much into the new hits right now. I stick to my old, reliable, favorite songs, so I don't know a lot of the new songs. But during our stay in Antulang, I listened to Sharon's iPod, and was pleasantly surprised at how good the new songs are.
