Tayo na sa Antipolo...

My PC got another worm the other day but I think I was able to get rid of it. Grrr... Then I tried to use "Hello" to post some pics but my PC hung twice so forget about that! Back to the old way of posting pics...

I went to Antipolo with my parents and Jovan last weekend. Parking was really bad, so we told ourselves that whenever we go there, we should always have a driver. We went to mass at 11AM - I don't like going to mass there because I can't concentrate (too many people, too much action, too much noise... etc!). But it's always fun going to Antipolo. I love kasuy!

Kung anu-ano...

Lots of updates but I haven't been in the mood to post lately. Watched Home on the Range and Walking Tall - yeah, yeah, we were bored. On the day we watched Walking Tall, we bought tickets for Spiderman since they were available already. At least we won't have to go through the hassle of lining up on the day itself. Something to check out at Eastwood Theaters: FLOYD'S! Their desserts are heavenly!!! Strawberry Shortcake and Mudpie - yum!

We're now playing badminton twice a week. But, I still eat a lot! I... have... to... stop... eating... !!!

To those who are following Starting Over at ETC, aren't you just annoyed at Nyanza? I can't believe they let her get away with everything she said and did. She should have been kicked out of the house. No progress WHATSOEVER.

My mom and I went to MC Home Depot this afternoon and I went absolutely nuts! Lots of kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff... It was so frustrating 'cause we were just window shopping, and I really hate window shopping.

Preps

Happy to say that there has been *some* progress with the wedding preps. Asked several suppliers a LOT of questions, and hopefully I'll be able to book them by July. We already decided on our wedding coordinator - it's gonna be Jody. As for the event stylist, I'm supposed to set a meeting with Tita Dot one of these days, and I have a meeting with Petal Patch tomorrow. They're already providing the flowers for the entourage and the church so I figured that I should also consider them for the reception decor.

I found new gown designs that are absolutely fabulous! Can I just say that Monique Lhullier is a fashion genius. I love, love, love her work!

Serious naman...

Our next president and vice-president have already been proclaimed. So why am I not excited? Well, I've been out of it since the campaign period 'cause I knew that there were really only 2 contenders - FPJ and GMA. How can I look forward to the next 6 years with those 2? I have a bad feeling about the next 6 years. GMA may have won (did she really?) but it's clear that she doesn't have the majority vote. Hell, if you add all the votes of the other candidates, the result will be more than her number of votes! Good luck to the Filipino people. Sigh.

Jovan and THE CLAN

Jovan met THE CLAN yesterday. There was a mass and a lunch for the death anniversary of one of the lola's. We took that opportunity to ask our primary sponsors (as a formality) and give them gifts. We asked a tita of mine, a tito, and my eye doctor from way back, who's close to the family. Yes it's a bit early, but since we were sure already, there was no reason to wait. Also, these people travel often so it's good that they know the date early on. My tito actually said it's good that we have a date - they'll schedule their summer trip next year to accommodate the wedding. Cool.

Those who met liked him, or at least it seemed that they did, ehehe! :D Even the grumpy lola made a joke - "he's healthy" - and smiled after the comment. So far, so good. He wasn't able to meet everyone since the others were not there. Until the next clan lunch, I guess. :)

The Rings

Since we were already in Laguna, my mom accompanied us to her alahera so they could get our sizes. We also left the stones for my ring. Unfortunately, I forgot that we were going to the alahera so I forgot to bring the photos that I have, but no problem there 'cause my mom goes home to Binan often. It was funny 'cause after getting our sizes, the lady told my mom that the cost might change - weeks ago, she gave her a quote for a normal-sized ring. But since Jovan's size is biiiig, they have to adjust the price. :)

We'll probably get the rings in August or September.

Help!!! I just found out that the layout of my blog is screwed up in IE. I've been using Mozilla since Mike introduced it to me so I didn't know about this. The layout is fine with Mozilla. The new templates of Blogger use CSS, and I have no idea how to fix it since I really only do trial and error. HEEEEEELP!!!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Thanks to some friends, we were able to watch Harry Potter on the first day. I went to Eastwood at around 1PM to buy tickets for the 8PM screening but only a few seats were left, tingi-tingi pa. But we learned that some friends had extra tickets to the 7:35PM screening so we were able to watch.

Jovan and I loved the movie. But being the 3rd movie in a series, I felt that somehow it lost its charm. Remember the ghosts walking around Hogwarts? The floating candles? The moving photos and paintings? The audience is so used to them already so they're not as amusing anymore. Also, I remember that the quidditch scene in the 1st movie was AMAZING!!! But the quidditch scene in the 3rd movie was short.

But still, the movie is good, especially if you consider the fact that it's the 3rd movie already. It's darker, but that's really how it is in the book.

Maita and Nix's Wedding

I attended Maita and Nix's wedding last saturday. It was a lovely, simple yet elegant wedding. It was perfect. I am in love with Maita's gown!!! It's so beautiful, even if it's simple! It's the 'look' that I really like! The gowns of the entourage members were also very pretty, having an oriental theme. The flowers along the aisle were lovely. And the choir, the Madrigal Singers, provided very beautiful music.

The reception at the Mandarin Oriental was simple, yet very elegant. The Company sang several songs, and they were SO good that Mads and I couldn't help but say "ang galing" after every song! I wish I had TONS of money so I could also get them for our wedding. Shucks. The giveaways were Murrano earrings, which was very interesting. The cake was from Alex Franco, and do I still have to tell you how yummy an Alex Franco cake is??? :)

The wedding ended really early, but I'm sure that this is what Nix and Maita wanted.

Badminton

Happy to say that we go to our badminton sessions regularly - every monday. Now we're going to attempt to make it twice a week - I hope we can do it.

Shopping

I have been spending a lot on myself lately, after a very long break from 'splurging'. I think that we all deserve this once in a while. :D I bought some blouses from Kamiseta and a bag from T which I have been eyeing for a month. I promise not to 'splurge' after my birthday since it's not like I have so much money to spend. :D

Raving...

Played badminton with Jovan, Mira and Grace at Whoosh. Since no one else joined us, we got really tired because we used two courts. Sayang yung reservation. I really hope that Jovan and I can play more often. Twice a week is a good start.

...and rrrranting... again.

I'm not playing badminton because it's a fad. I enjoy it, it's relatively easy to learn, and it's a really good workout. Geez you end up sweating after 5 minutes of playing! I think that those people who refuse to play it BECAUSE it's a fad are just like those people who play it because it's a fad. It's all about the reason behind playing, or not playing it.
