Jordin Sparks
It's over! Jordin Sparks was named this year's American Idol two weeks ago! I've been so busy that I haven't had the time to blog, but there's no way I would forget to write about the finale. I felt that it was too full, too commercialized compared to the other years, and too 'mechanical'. But I totally agree with the outcome, I feel that American Idol's core is the singing, not the 'performances'. I don't feel bad for Blake Lewis, I think he has a great future ahead of him. Being number 2 is even a blessing for him because has more freedom, which is necessary for his preference and style. His homecoming concert was full of looping dance music that lasted at least 7 minutes which isn't really what pop is all about.

The Final Three
And we're down to three! I can't believe it! Watching the hilarious auditions of American Idol just seems like yesterday! Haven't been able to catch the episodes on TV lately because of work, but THANK GOD for YouTube I get to watch the performances.
Melinda. Jordin. Blake. Do you agree with America on the final three? Honestly, I don't think third place matters. I truly believe that this is going to be between Melinda and Jordin - they have been very consistent, especially Melinda who did not have a bad week. Not one. She had some weak performances, but those were still awesome - imagine that! I think next week is a do or die week for Blake - the burden is on him to prove that he has a shot to be the next American Idol.
If you'll ask me to predict who's going to win, I will not be able to give an answer. Melinda has been consistent and at times it seems that she has it in the bag. However, Jordin has been doing well too and sometimes you forget that she's just 17. But I think they're both winners already - whether or not they win they will be awesome artists. Just look at Chris Daughtry, fourth place in American Idol, first place in the charts.
I can't wait for the next two weeks!

Sanjaya
I don't know what to say. He's still in American Idol. He hasn't been in the bottom 3 the past 2 weeks. He know his strength - his hair - and he's really going all out with his hairdo every week. It's annoying, it's disappointing, and for me, it's taking away the American Idol charm.
If Jordin, Lakisha and Melinda leave earlier than Sanjaya, then American Idol will turn out to be the number one joke in America.

Idol News
I love American Idol. I find it very entertaining. But more than that, it's one of the things that keep me going, because it's something I look forward to every week, aside from the weekend. There are not a lot of things I look forward to right now.
I think the Americans got it really wrong when Sabrina Sloan left, but that's okay. However, I think the Americans are getting it wrong by keeping Sanjaya Malakar there. That's not okay. He has no stage presence at all. I was glad that he was part of the bottom 2 last week. I hope he gets voted off this week.
I think the girls have it. And though everyone thinks it's between Melinda and Lakisha, I think Jordin has a shot. She's pretty, she's young, and she has a beautiful voice. I just hope she'll be consistent. The boys - well, too bad that the girls are just way more talented.

There's hope in Idol...
The girls are awesome! Definitely, the girls are better than the guys, in general. By a mile. And I think it's unfair that we are forced to have 6 girls and 6 guys as part of the final 12. Oh well.
My Favorite: Jordin Sparks - This girl can sing!!! She can definitely sing! I would love to see more of her. I just hope she doesn't end up like Mandisa last year. I can't believe she's just 17. She has an awesome voice!
Other Notables:
Melinda Doolittle was a natural. Great performance!
Sabrina Sloan - She surprised me. I wasn't impressed during the auditions, and this was reinforced by the clip they showed before her performance. But she rocked, and I think she's one of the best for tonight.
Lakisha Jones - I think she's a fave of the producers. They're really setting her up. Nice video clips, nice take on the story, and well, she's an awesome singer. That was a really good performance - what a way to end the show! As Simon, she was in a different league.
I swear, the guys are in trouble this year. My fave for last night was Phil Stacey, but now that the girls have performed, his performance was just so-so. No one brought the house down.
Fearless Forecast
I think it will be the end of the road for Antonella Barba. That was just a really bad performance. She strikes me as someone who can sing, but not cut out for a big competition such as American Idol. Really, really far from everyone else. The second girl could be Nicole Tranquillo, Alaina Alexander,
For the guys, I think Paul Kim, Sundance Head, or Sanjaya Malakar will be out. Paul Kim - He's not comfortable on stage. It was such a stiff performance! And when he goes out of the RnB groove, he loses it. Sundance Head - Bad song, bad performance, not so great voice. Sanjaya Malakar - No stage presence at all! It's sad because his voice is okay, he has a lot of potential, but he lacks the 'it' factor.
Question - Is AJ Tabaldo pinoy?

No Idol Yet
It's that time of year again! I'm currently watching American Idol and I haven't been wowed at all by any guy. This is not good. Is it because they're all very nervous, especially with American Idol being the number 1 show in the US right now? Or is it really a lack of talent? I really think that the selection process was questionable - it seems that they chose some contestants based on the city auditions alone, when this shouldn't be the case! The selection process should take into consideration ALL performances! I really do not understand why Sundance is part of the final 24 contestants! I don't get it at all! A few more contestants to go... I hope at least 1 person wows me tonight.

American Idol
It's about time that I wrote about American Idol. Heck, there are 6 contestants left! I had a lot of bets at the start, but sadly, one of them is already out. My bets at the start were Mandeesa, Elliot, Chris, and Taylor. I was very disappointed when Mandeesa left - for me, she had the best voice! Elliot has a great voice, but realistically, I dont think he can win because of his looks. It sucks I know, the voice should be more important, but that's just the way it is. I HOPE that I'm wrong, I would love to see him win. Chris, on the other hand, has both the voice and charm. Though his voice is not as good as Elliot's, it's unique, and with the right songs, he's just awesome. Taylor is so much fun to watch, and I think there were weeks when the judges just didn't get him, but I believe he's doing well.
Tonight's theme was love songs. My favorite performances were Elliot's, Taylor's (I have NO idea why the judges didn't like his performance!) and Chris. Tomorrow's elimination will be interesting - I hope Katherine McPhee gets voted out, but that's just wishful thinking. I'm hoping the bottom 3 will be Katherine, Paris, and Kelly. (TAMA NA PA-CUTE!) Realistically, I think it's possible that Paris and Kelly will be included.

American Idol! Woohoo!
I am so happy with my bets' performances tonight! (People in the US, we're 5 episodes delayed here in the Philippines.) Jasmine was awesome and Fantasia was a star. I totally agree with Simon when he said that she doesn't need the contest to make it big. I also like George's and Jennifer's performances. And HA! Leah Labelle sucked big time!
[SPOILER ALERT to the Filipinos] It's becoming a trend that the weaker singers are being voted off. American Idol is really about being a total performer but singing is still the most important element of all.
I will make a bold prediction. I think the top 4 will be Fantasia, Latoya, Jasmine, and either George or Jennifer.

I am currently watching American Idol on Star World and I am laughing my ass off! It's sooooooooooo funny! Well, minus the parts where they hurt the feelings of the contestants - sometimes they judges can go overboard.
