Weekend - Wedding, Photography, and Accident
The weekend was... weird. Not a typical weekend for me.
I attended my cousin's wedding last Saturday. The wedding was in the Church in Tierra Pura, while the reception was in Fernwood Gardens along Tandang Sora avenue. The church was beautiful, and I can't find the words to describe Fernwood Gardens. The place was so nice! This may sound really 'baduy', but it was like paradise inside. The parking area needs a lot of improvement though.
I started being serious about photography last friday, so I thought that it would be great to take pictures during the wedding. I finished a roll of film - took a picture of the altar with the newlyweds kneeling down from the entrance of the Church, took a picture of one of the parrots in Fernwood, which was waving at the camera (no kidding!). I also took a picture of the falls... I can't wait until they get developed!
It was supposed to be a good day but it turned out to be a nightmare. Gino got into an accident on his way home. His friend was driving the vehicle, and he was on the passenger seat, and three of his friends were at the back. Vehicle was a Revo-type of vehicle, I'm just not sure what kind (Adventure? Crosswind? ??) I don't know the exact details, but I think they tried to avoid a truck and the vehicle turned over 3 times. It was a total wreck. It's good that nothing happened to Gino. One of his friends had a bleeding eye, one had a painful leg (they suspected fracture), and one had a painful back.
He texted me at around12:45AM, and told me that he would be home at 2:00AM. We were supposed to talk about the events of the day, because we didn't get to talk the whole day. The next time he called, he was already at the hospital. Life is really unpredictable. No matter how you plan everything, half of what happens to you you really can't control.
To those who are reading this entry of mine right now, where are you? Are you in the office? At home? I have a suggestion: call your loved ones now and tell them how much you love them. It doesn't matter where you are or what you're currently doing. Don't wait for "next time" or "later". There might not be one. Now is the best time.

Conversations with God
I just started on the book a few weeks ago. I am totally fascinated at the content! The book really opens you up to accept new ideas, truly life-changing. I just have a problem with the first part. The author keeps on saying that the book is actually his conversations with God. That's fine. If that's what he experienced, then that's good for him. I just have a problem with what he said afterwards - that God is talking to you (the reader) through the book/me. I think the reader should be the judge of that. It's up to the reader if he or she experiences God while reading the book. Experiencing God is something that's personal, it's not something that someone else imposes on you.
That aside, I'm looking forward to reading the whole book. I've only read a few pages - haven't had the time to read. I hope to really gain new insight and to know more about God. Truly. Not just by memorizing prayers and dogmas and reading scripture without really paying attention... This is a step by step process for me. And somehow, there's progress. :)

Semi-Hell Week
I'm glad this semi-hell week is over. Had so many things to do! Ang kalat ko tuloy! We're already working on two projects, one of which will be launched within the next two weeks. I also had to prepare my MBO or Management by Objectives, which includes my action plan for the year. We had a learning session earlier which was conducted by our group. Di pa kasama yung mga usual na ginagawa every week. Whew! I sure am glad that's over. Minus one thing to do!

On my mom and dad's anniv and MyAyala.com
My mom and dad celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday. I had to remind my dad - he always forgets. Not because he doesn't care, he's really just forgetful already. Anyway, my gift for them (and for me na rin) is a mini-rock garden fountain . I bought it online from MyAyala.com and I am very happy with their service! MyAyala.com is where Bea works.
I ordered last Saturday morning and asked for the product to be delivered on Sunday. Unfortunately, they do not process orders over the weekend. They called me up Monday for the details, and they asked if they should still deliver on Sunday. I explained that I was referrring to the day before so I told them to just deliver on wednesday. And when I got home a while ago, the package was already in the living room. The gift was was gift-wrapped, and it was in another box with styro.

I like online shopping, because it's very convenient. My only complaint is the delivery fee - but I guess we can't do anything about that, huh? It would also be great if there were more choices. I can't imagine buying clothes online, though, because that's really something that should be felt and tried on if possible.

On work, stress, and cats...
It's already 9PM and I'm still in the office. Yesterday, I left the office at around 10:30PM. I really can't wait til this thing I'm working on gets launched. It hasn't even been launched yet and there's another project that just started. The nice thing about it is that I'm not stressed. Hmmm, I mean, I'm not as stressed out as before. Stress really isn't the load that you have, it's how you handle the load.
Anyway, a mickey mouse just passed by. Was he fast!
Speaking of animals, I'm planning to have a pet starting this year. Uhm, not mice. :) I'm planning to get a nice cat. I started to research about cats and so far, so good. Do you guys have tips or warnings or whatever that you can share? You might know some breeders, or info. If you could help me out in whatever way, I will greatly appreciate it.
All the articles I've read about getting a pet have a common introduction: Never buy a pet on a whim. You have to know the risks and the costs involved. I found a site that 'searches' for the perfect cat for you, based on what you want. It's very helpful! It asks how much time I can spend with the cat - apparently there are some cats which are needy when it comes to attention. It asks if you want a 'lazy' or a playful/active cat. It asks if you want to always carry the cat - there are cats which don't like being a carried. Based on the results, I chose which breeds I will look for, when I have the money already. Just bought a new celphone so I can't spend another major thing right away.
The best breed for me is the Ragdoll. Thing is, I'm not sure if it's common here. So far, based on what I found on the net, the most common breed here in Manila is the Persian-Himalayan.

KFC Commercial
There are some commercials that are really effective, and the latest KFC commercial is one of them. You will really end up craving for KFC chicken after watching. And that was what happened this afternoon. Anton, Gino and I were watching TV, and right after the KFC commercial was aired, we all wanted to eat chicken!
This is the second commercial with this effect on me. The first one was the Jollibee Aloha burger ad. I'm not fond of burgers and sandwiches, I just eat them whenever, but that commercial really made me want to try the product.
Anyway, we ended up ordering from KFC for dinner. :)

Lord of the Rings
If you haven't watched the movie, the post below could be considered a spoiler...
I'm really not a Tolkien fan, unlike some of my friends and other people I know. And I'm glad - because of that, I appreciated the movie more. I've heard some people say "that's not how it happened in the book" or "wala naman niyan sa libro!". I think it's impossible for the movie to be exactly like the book.
I love Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers. Unlike the first movie, I didn't notice the length of the movie. I kept on expecting more, until the end. Everything was balanced - the comedy, mushiness, action... The action scenes were great. And the effects were awesome - you will not notice that Gollum is just a CG character at all.
Urgh, back to work. Have to finish some stuff.
