The day after...
Aching... muscles... but it actually feels good! I hope we can really play badminton regularly.
Yoga
Anyone into yoga? It looks really interesting. If you have info of a place that has regular yoga here in Quezon City, lemme know!
ICE MONSTER!
I love Ice Monster! I always order Strawberry Ice. But when I crave for chocolate, I order the one with brownies. There's really something about the consistency of the ice. It's so much smoother than the ice in a regular halo-halo. We'd always crave for Ice Monster whenever we're in Makati. Thank God they have more branches now! There's one in Sta. Lu, and one at the Araneta Center (they place a LOT of toppings in this branch). I just fear that they're expanding too fast - a sign that it's another Zagu in the making. They should lower their prices, it's a bit pricey at P60-P80.

Badminton
I went to Woosh Badminton along Quezon Ave with Jovan and some ABSi peeps. And we had a really good time! We were able to play two doubles games in an hour. It was a really good workout, and totally beats going to the gym. We're hoping to do it regularly, around twice a week.
I hope, ahem, Mads, that we can also play during weekends. :)

AMERICAN IDOL, PREPS, BOOKSALE...
...
Not a lot of entries lately 'cause most of my updates are preps updates which all go here. :)
...
[AMERICAN IDOL SPOILER ALERT! For viewers in the Philippines.] It's good that John Stevens was finally voted off tonight. After his "King of the Road" performance, everything was just a downhill ride for him. It has been very clear that this is not his thing, and I'm glad that people finally get that. Ada said that she read in a forum somewhere that his fans said they will not vote for him anymore this week, to spare him. And they did just that. Nice things said by Simon though - he said that one of the reasons why he's still around is that he takes everything that's said to him, and he wishes that other ex-finalists are like him.
I read in an article that he got death threats after Jennifer was voted off. Some people can be crazy (and stupid). He's 16 years old and he had nothing to do with her being voted off! Duh.
...
I was happy to find out there will be another PinoyExchange Book Club Booksale! It will be on May 15, 2004 at Zimdude's residence. I already prepared the books that I'm planning to sell. I just have to submit my list soon. :)

Lots of plans and progress from our end on the preps front. However, we're still waiting for replies from several suppliers. I really hope that May will be a good month for the preps. *Fingers crossed*
-----------------
I watched Oprah on Starworld the other day and I was inspired. The show was about weight loss. The guest fitness instructor said that the question isn't "Do you want to lose weight", but "Will you do what it takes to lose weight". I really got inspired and motivated and so I'm doing several things right now.
I'm helping myself with daily reminders. I was told about this way back in college and so far, it's working! I printed the reminders and stuck them in that places that I frequently see, like the PC monitor, my desk, my dressing table, etc. Part of the reminders are "I will drink lots of water" and "I will be conscious with my posture". I also have "I will avoid junk food" - let's see if that works. So far, it's really working for me. I hope that this continues.
I now consider this whole weight-loss thing as a war on not having discipline. And each temptation to eat (in-between meals especially) is a battle. Since I think of it that way, I'm more conscious about it and it helps me say "no" to the temptation. I even say "no" out loud. And I really feel victorious. At that moment, at least.
It's really hard though. Not just the eating, but also the posture. Friendly friends, I need your help here. :) (And that means that Mads, you shouldn't ask me to have merienda with you anymore. But I can always accompany you to the caf. :P And Bunny, no more sharing crispy pata in Congo Grill. :P)

Lance Armstrong is now with Sheryl Crow? Read it from one of the posts in Cycling Forums and here.
I'm sad that it didn't work out with his ex-wife. :(
-----------------------
I can't wait for Tour de France 2004!!!
-----------------------
In the meantime, the Philippine Cycling Network members are currently discussing the penalty slapped on several cyclists in Tour Pilipinas for distributing water with non-teammates. I think I understand why, since I'm detached from the sport. But it seems that most of the cyclists don't. Well, they're the ones who sweat it out under the scorching sun... So there.

Gmail
Thanks to Blogger, I get to test the much-anticipated Gmail from Google. I think it's cool, I'd choose it over Yahoo Mail anytime.
The features... You get 1000MB or 1 GB of space for all your email. WOW. That's much bigger space than any paid web-based email that I know of! And instead of emails being in separate folders, with Gmail, you get to label emails. (You create your labels instead of folders.) You can also mark a message with a star (without the page refreshing) and you can opt to just display the "starred messages".
I tried to use Gmail as an alternate email address for my Yahoogroups account and I haven't received an email. And so I could not verify. It has been two days. Hmmmm....

I blog about a lot of things, personal things, but I seldom pour my heart out - but I really have to this time.
It's really sad when you need understanding and you don't get it, especially from the people who you expect to give it. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with everything that's happening around me. However, I have an internal issue which I'm dealing with. You see, I'm not used to being this fat. Though big-boned, I wasn't really fat before. Right now I don't feel good about myself. I'm very conscious about my size. I'm trying my best to do something about it, but it's tough.
I choose the photos that I display online. I upload those which are least unflattering. Those that are outright unflattering, no way.
I went for a trial make up today. Yes I know it's a bit early, but because more and more brides are signing up for May 2005, I want to try the 'top' suppliers right away. And that's what I did today. I wasn't too happy about how big my face was so I sent the photos to close and good friends, so that they can give me their comments about the hair and make up. But that's about it. I really didn't want to post them in the blogs because of the reasons stated above.
I thought that people who love me would be able to understand that. Apparently not. It may not be right - feeling this way - but that's how I feel.
To those who understand, I thank you. And to those who support me in my trying to lose weight, another round of thanks. I wish and hope to lose weight in the coming year so that I can feel better about myself.

Thoughts during Traffic
This morning I was trying to remember what Edsa looked like without the MRT. I don't even remember when it was launched. I also tried to imagine what it would be like again without the MRT. Would the vehicles even move? How many hours will it take for me to reach Makati? How many bus lanes would there be? Four?
I was also trying to compare the MRT to have a private vehicle. With the MRT, yes you do reach your destination with a shorter period of time. But, you'll have to scramble you way to the cars (I'm talking about the rush hours), push your way to a handle bar or a seat, and stand being with so many people! On the other hand, with a private vehicle, there's aircon, you can actually listen to whatever music you want, and you can sleep. But, you'll have to go through REALLY BAD traffic and by the time you reach your destination, you feel so tired.
I was wondering if GMA-7 paid for their placements on the MRT billboards.
And I was also wondering if the PBA billboards helped in any way with the attendance and/or TV ratings of the PBA.
*Shrug.*

Wedding Blog
The design of our wedding blog was revised by none other than Jovan himself. I find it really nice (I guess I'm biased) and I think the main reason why is that it's a labor of love. Hope you can check it out! And if you do, do leave a message!

Friends
Really had a good time at Congo Grill El Pueblo tonight! Saw friends I haven't seen for the longest time! The usual suspects were there - Bunny, Shirley, Alexis, Jovan, and Lester. But surprisingly, Roswell, Kai, and Randall were able to drop by!
That's usually our gimmick. Food, drinks, kwento. Nothing fancy. But it's always fun! The company really makes a big difference. Thank God for good friends. :)
I gave Bunny an Alex Franco cake. Well, it was actually for everyone because everyone go to taste. And they all loved it! Happy! Now I'm really sure that the guests during the big day will love the cake. :)
