Can I just tell you that Manila Peninsula has GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Online, at least. I've inquired twice already, through the form in their website. The first was for their wedding packages, and the second was for the room rates and packages. Both times, I received replies within two days!
When we went there for our appointment with the Account Executive, we were greeted warmly. The AE was very pleasant and she was able to answer our questions.
I am amazed at companies that value customer service. Very rare, nowadays.

This site has so many good BUT cheap books! I think I've spent more than P5000 on this site! That may not seem a lot but for hardbound books at P250 that's a big amount. :)

I think that this is the best local tech gadget magazine out there. Good reviews, good topics... I subscribed to the magazine and realized that by doing that, I was punishing myself. Though very informative, it's very frustrating to read it because I end up wanting to buy all the featured gadgets. Which, of course, I can't do. Sigh.

Knowing...
It really doesn't feel like a year. We weren't even counting. ('Cause we were counting the months to the big day ehehehe.) A warning to all: everything that follows will be cliche, but it's the truth so here goes. When Jovan came into my life, everything changed. My life changed. It has been one of the best years of my life, seriously. You can all ask my close friends about it. My relationship with my parents is at an all-time high. A cynic at heart, I can say that I'm not as negative as I was before. And most importantly, I see God differently, and my relationship with Him improved a lot. The only negative thing I got out of this relationship is that I got fat. :)
I used to always ask my married friends "how did you know that he's the one?". And almost always, I would get this answer: "You'll just know." I never understood that. How can you 'just know'? Even if I was in a relationship, why 'didn't I know'? Don't get me wrong, I really think that the ultimate goal for any relationship is marriage. There were also talks about the future before. But "wanting him to be the one" is very different from "knowing he's the one".

Awful, awful choir...
I don't know how to blog about this but I just have to. What's there to say about a really awful choir? One of the two Churches I go to has a kids' choir, and I just don't know how to go about this.
On one hand, you have to admire these kids for devoting their time to practice and to singing every single week. It's good that they're using their time for something meaningful, something good. The way I see it, one hour with the choir is one hour away from drugs, from other vices. So it should be a good thing, right?
One the other hand, what if the choir is so awful that it makes church goers wish they were somewhere else, or wish that the ceremony is over? There is no such thing as volume to them, and it doesn't help that they sound horrible. My whole experience of going to mass is affected, even if I try hard not to think about it. Some people will say "Going to mass is about being with God and everything's secondary." True, but I'm really just being realistic.
The way I see it, singing during mass is for praising God, and for the participation of the community. I love going to mass in Ateneo because the choirs are so good that you can feel even your bones praising God. "Praise God!" is all around you! I always end up being so into the ceremony and really absorbing everything around me.
Well for me, the only thing I an do is to wake up earlier so that I can go to the earlier masses with the better choirs.

Survivor All-Stars! Woohoo!
[This is a SPOILER to those who have yet to watch the episode on Sunday.]
What a dramatic episode! This is the first time that a survivor was so affected by the possible fate of another survivor, to the point that he tried to make a deal with another survivor from the opposing tribe! Wow! And it actually worked!
I CANNOT wait for the next episode, when the original Chapera tribe finds out that Amber is still in the game! It also shows how 'deep' Rob and Amber's "relationship" (note the quotation marks) is. It's definitely more than just flirtation.
I know not a lot of peole like him, but I like him Rob M., especially when he's nice. He has his moments of being an a** and a jerk but hey, no one's perfect.
I can't wait for the merge!!!

I am so happy with my bets' performances tonight! (People in the US, we're 5 episodes delayed here in the Philippines.) Jasmine was awesome and Fantasia was a star. I totally agree with Simon when he said that she doesn't need the contest to make it big. I also like George's and Jennifer's performances. And HA! Leah Labelle sucked big time!
[SPOILER ALERT to the Filipinos] It's becoming a trend that the weaker singers are being voted off. American Idol is really about being a total performer but singing is still the most important element of all.
I will make a bold prediction. I think the top 4 will be Fantasia, Latoya, Jasmine, and either George or Jennifer.
